In 1998 Allan Sweeney honoured the Japanese tradition of slow release of information.  His connections with Japan and his discovery of Dr. Usui's documents were kept secret.

8. April 1999. Allan was one of the 5 main speakers at the first ever Worldwide Congress of Reiki Masters from all lineages in Japan.
9. The word 'Sensei' in Japan is above a Reiki Master. It is only used for Reiki Masters who are highly honoured and respected for their exceptional knowledge and ability. Allan had the honour of being called Sensei by Japanese Reiki Senseis.
10. Allan was the first Reiki Master in the world to teach and practice Reiki in prisons.
11. STOP PRESS. A fax from Japan arrived asking Allan to write a foreword to a Reiki book by a Japanese Sensei. It will be a sensational book about Dr. Usui's true teachings...
