Giving
Reiki Treatments Interview and Assessment This
is a brief summary of the process I use to interview and assess new
clients. There may be certain
aspects of this process that are relevant to other Reiki healers, and some
that are not. This is not an
instruction in how to give Reiki healing, it is simply a method I use,
which may be of use to others. The
first step in assessing a new client is the Initial Interview Form
and Treatment Form (those of you taught by Allan will be
familiar with these). I
use a personalised version that suits me. Filling
in the forms is good practice and gives a permanent record of the healing. Completing
the forms is more than just creating a record though.
It is the means to "learn" the client.
It is vitally important to use this opportunity to ask questions,
in an informal and non-intrusive way, to get a feel for the client, as
they are now, and as they have been in the past.
Allow
the client to talk, not to just answer your questions, but to talk freely.
Listen and feel what they are saying, for this is your path to the
origins of what ever symptoms/problems they may have. This
is the start of the healing process, Reiki healing is more than just the
treatment we give, it is the empowerment of the client to heal themselves. When
you have an idea of where the origin and cause of the symptoms are, delve
gently into that area, but be sensitive to the clients feelings at all
times. Lead the client to
that origin, but allow them to find it for themselves.
This is the next part of the healing process, when the client
realises where the symptoms/problems came from.
This is quite an enlightening moment for the client; allow them
time to think and to talk about this. When
you have reached this stage, you can determine the healing you are going
to give, and you can give the client some ideas on how they can help
themselves. The
healing itself is based around the information from above, any instinctive
insights, and any guidance you are given.
